Huskies got off to a good start with 2-0 win over SP

SP suffers their second defeat in POL-ITE after losing to RP by 2 goals. This put them at the bottom of the table, while RP and TP are both tied at the top as TP defeat NP by 2 goals also in the first game.

SP is looking for a win so as to ensure that they are still in strong contention for the title while RP is also looking for a win to avenge their lost to SP 2 years ago. RP managed to take charge of the game right from kick-off as both their central midfield pairing of Adam and Amali are able to control SP’s central midfield. Their pin-point through balls and passing are causing alot of problem for the defenders. To make matter worse for SP’s defense, they have to endure RP’s fast striker Adly and also their skillful winger, Gabriel. Soon enough, Gabriel tapped the ball into the net after receiving a low cross from the right side of the field. He got another chance to double the lead for RP just before half time, but with just the keeper to beat, he shot straight at the keeper.

In the second half, RP had a few chances to double their lead. But the chances are mostly cancelled out by the referee as his performance is obviously below par. In the first half itself, it seems that the referee is very generous with the cards especially for RP players. But, it seems that the SP players well took advantage of this situation and went in recklessly at RP player and they somehow managed to escape any booking. Moving on to the game, after countless of attempts to get the second goal which would ensure a comfortable lead, RP managed to get a free kick on the right side of the field. Gabriel stepped up to take the free kick and his in-swinger leads to Madhu heading in the second goal for RP. Finally, they could heave a sigh of relief as this ensure a safe cushion for them.

For now, RP have a week break before facing NYP in the next game and they are looking at making history to beat NYP for the first time in a competition. Looking at how they play against SP, no doubt that they will give NYP a run for their money.

Starting Line-up : Rizza, Faizal, Madhu, Danial (Suhari), Eddy, Siraj, Adam, Amali (Amos), Gabriel, Zulhelmi, Adly

Huskies end pre-season with a resounding win over SAFSA

The Huskies end their shaky pre-season with a convincing win over SAFSA with a scoreline of 6 to 3. Before the game, the team received a news that their first-choice keeper, Sharil Satar, is definitely out for the first POL-ITE game after suffering a fracture on his ankle. And this result in the coach recalling Amran to back Rizza up for POL-ITE. Sharil asked Rizza if he was confident to take up the responsibility and with uttermost confident, he replied “Yes!”.

The team’s win over SAFSA meant that we are going high in confidence into the first game. And we definitely hoped that both strikers, Gabriel Quak and Zuladly, are able to continue their goal-scoring form come SP for the first game.

Quick Update of Match Result:

SP 0 – 3 NP
